These guys consume film algae and diatoms primarily. Not for hair alage, bubble algae, etc. Will eat certain macroalgae.
Mostly ornamental, and not particularly utilitarian. can prolong the time between glass cleanings. the film algae is not eaten 100%, so there will be a pattern in the film algae after they make a pass.
mostly nocturnal. sensitive to harassment from fish and other invertebrates. If a fish is not Live clam or LPS safe, it is likely not Abalone safe.
while these do get quite sizable, they are agile and can move around coral without plowing it over.
