Description
A blueish body with specks of green, and a bright green mouth.
frags will be 3/4″+
Most of the corals that were classified as Favia are now Favites, Dipsastraea, Coelastrea, or Goniastrea.
Favia was long used as a “catch all” for any similar looking coral.
“Favia” corals hold their color well. they may dull out or bleach when conditions are unfavorable, but won’t shift color like is the case with many Acropora.
for light, lower to moderate levels are good
moderate flow. enough to keep detritus from accumulating, but not so much as to overwhelm the coral.
Favia can be fed small foods, but not necessary.
sweeper tentacles are present, but they don’t tend to reach too far. an inch or 2 of space is adequate. of course, plan out how the coral will grown in the future, as to not encroach on other corals in your tank.
